Tel Aviv, Israel (March 8, 2022) — D-ID has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2022. D-ID has earned the standing of No. 7 Most Innovative Companies in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
This year’s list honors businesses that are making the biggest impact on their industries and culture as a whole—ultimately thriving in today’s ever-changing world. These companies are creating the future today with some of the most inspiring accomplishments of the 21st century.
“We are thrilled by this extraordinary recognition of our innovative work in the field of AI and deep learning,” said Gil Perry, CEO and Co-Founder of D-ID. “Our team has worked tirelessly to push the boundaries of the digital-human sphere, leveraging AI to create viral experiences, and leading the use of synthetic media for good. We are grateful to Fast Company for recognizing our achievements, and we plan to continue to amaze and excite.”
Fast Company’s recognition of D-ID comes on the heels of a highly successful year for the company. In late February 2021, D-ID partnered with leading genealogy platform MyHeritage to launch Deep Nostalgia, which became an overnight sensation. The feature went viral by enabling millions around the world to animate photos of their ancestors, leading MyHeritage to become the #1 app in the Apple App Store, and generating nearly 100 million animations to date.
In the year since, D-ID’s technology has been licensed by a wide range of industry leaders, including Warner Bros. Studios, which leveraged D-ID’s technology in its next-generation promotion of the film Reminiscence. Multinational advertising agency Publicis and packaged food giant Mondelez International have also licensed D-ID’s technology for their advertising campaigns. In early March, D-ID and MyHeritage launched LiveStory, the new groundbreaking successor to Deep Nostalgia, which enables the creation of AI-generated biographical videos narrated by photos of users’ ancestors. D-ID is also working with The Glimpse Group (NASDAQ: VRAR), a diversified virtual reality and augmented reality platform, to develop AI/AR/VR applications for the Metaverse.
D-ID is a pioneer in leveraging Synthetic Media for good. The company has worked with nonprofit organizations and governments in various public awareness campaigns on sensitive issues, including domestic violence and HIV awareness. In addition to being named to Fast Company’s list of the world’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, D-ID was also named best use of AI in the Digiday Marketing and Advertising Awards Europe, and as a finalist for the prestigious SXSW Innovation Award.
The World’s Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s signature franchise and one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. It provides both a snapshot and a road map for the future of innovation across the most dynamic sectors of the economy. Fast Company’s editors and writers sought out the most groundbreaking businesses across the globe and industries. They also judged nominations received through their application process.
“The world’s most innovative companies play an essential role in addressing the most pressing issues facing society, whether they’re fighting climate change by spurring decarbonization efforts, ameliorating the strain on supply chains, or helping us reconnect with one another over shared passions,” said Fast Company Deputy Editor David Lidsky.
For the second year in a row, to coincide with the issue launch, Fast Company will host its Most Innovative Companies Summit on April 26–27. The virtual summit celebrates the Most Innovative Companies in business, and provides an early look at major business trends and an inside look at what it takes to innovate in 2022. Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March/April 2022) is available online here, as well as in-app form via iTunes, and on newsstands beginning March 15. The hashtag is #FCMostInnovative.
